I've noticed this thread being read on occasion and I feel that it's all water under the bridge.
So my wish for a better 2008, I have erased this post.

It seems rather self-evident, that mods should be moderate . But I must confess... I once edited the config of this forum to replace every instance of "JEEPERS!" with JEEPERS! -- but that was merely my patriotic literacy at work, and I reversed the change.

Tragic as the corruption over at the LPF is, I have to say that the place has never really held a candle to some of the other gathering spots in the Liz Phair online fan community that have come & gone.
Eleven years ago, I joined the guyville mailing list (started by Ross Jeffcoat -- Google it) & Jason Long's 6'1" mailing list (later to become the support-system mailing list; it is archived at smoe.org), and the discussions were always lively, intelligent, (mostly) civil, and inspired. As Liz took more time recording the Liz Phair album, interest and activity among that group of once-devoted fans (which at one point numbered 800+) began to significantly wane, and most of those folks -- many of whom I got to meet in person several times and considered actual friends -- did not migrate over to the LPF once that album was released. The new community that sprang up in 2003 hardly resembled the one I used to know, and you could say I was never able to become fully acclimated (I know: boo-hoo, right?). In the early days of the LPF, my old pals & I would frequently share our feelings of horror and disillusionment in those post-apocalyptic times... We were amused and saddened at the same time.
I like to think the Girly Sound forum is different, healthier... something to be embraced. The LPF can fuck off and die.

I apologized for my part in this mess over at LP Forum.
I think it's time to let the water flow under the bridge. It's all water under the bridge.
Time to move on folks.

I was in awe at JOG's maturity and tact in creating and handling that situation. I was going to express my feelings about it in the aforementioned thread, but then decided it wasn't worth it.

One thing that I should mention is the fact that I do not hold grudges. It just isn't all that smart.
I try to avoid people that I don't get along with and I don't intentionally pick fights, but I'm trying not be a coward and back down. This is hard for me because I was abused as a child and we were taught to not fight back against our Dad.
I think that it is quite possible that JOG will surprise us. I am keeping an open mind.
