This is the new track from album six that is available from Banana Republic if you purchase something starting May 13.  Anyone heard it yet?

Banana Republic is one of 10 brands that might not survive 2009, so you might want to hurry up.

Didn't think to much of it at first.  However after putting it on my ipod and giving it several listens I must admit it's not too bad.   It's a grower. It's poppy but not cheesy poppy.  I'm much more excited about "Spoiled Peach" which was featured in the "Zero Tolerance" episode on 90210.  That song, what I could hear of it, had a real good ole classic Liz sound to it.  "Faith and Tenderness" will be on Liz's new album and I'm assuming "Spoiled Peach " will be as well.  Over at LPF there is a link to download "Faith And Tenderness" for free as well as a link to a youtube clip of the 90210 episode featuring "Spoiled Peach".  You can hear the song behind the conversation of the two bimbos in the scene.  You probably get maybe 45 seconds or so of the song, but it sounds very promising!

I look stuff up on her every now and then, just to see if there's anything new, and I saw that it was released recently, and I said to my mother, "MAMA....we have to go to Babana Republic." I haven't gotten it yet, though.

I keep on forgetting to include the weblink:

12 brands that might not survive 2009

http://247wallst.com/2009/04/15/twelve-major-brands-that-will-disappear/

Here is the list:
Quote
The 12 major brands most likely to disappear in 2009:

   1. Avis
   2. Borders
   3. Crocs
   4. Saturn
   5. Esquire Magazine
   6. Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic
   7. Architectural Digest
   8. Chrysler
   9. Eddie Bauer
  10. Palm
  11. AIG
  12. United, American or US Air

Some of this is a bit dated since we are already halfway through 2009.  I just wanted to indicate that I wasn't making this stuff up.

Please note that I don't relish ANY company going out of business.  I think it is quite sad for companies like Bennigan's, Linens & Things, and Circuit City to shut their doors. However, you just have to put all of this into perspective.
