The website fivethirtyeight.com (http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/), reports Obama with a 95.8% win percentage.

Another good website is:  http://www.electoral-vote.com/

I liked the interview with John Cleese about Sarah Palin that's floating around on YouTube.  In deference to conservatives on this message board, I'll omit the link (but it should be easy to find).

I've been using twitter to keep up with hot discussion topics.  http://twitter.com

The John Cleese topic on twitter is found here: http://election.twitter.com/topic?t=John+Cleese

Hope this information is useful to all.

I've been following wonkette on twitter and I got pointed to a rather outrageous article:

Read it here:
http://wonkette.com/403622/if-i-say-mccain-won-the-debate-they-wont-notice-when-i-say-palins-a-dumb-clown

Here's a little section:
Quote
There are four (4) themes, one (1) meme and one (1) defiant/crazy conclusion in Noonan’s latest chapter of her upcoming best-seller, “What I Saw At The Sanitarium.” The themes are, a) My Brave Battles With Known Reality On Our Planet, b) The Evils of Eloquence, c) Dumb and Vulgar American Lowlifes Have Ruined Everything I Ever Cared About, and d) The Only People Who Would Believe A and B Will Be Outraged by C and D.

Then, for a fun ending, she flirtatiously dares the cops to seize her, bodily, tonight.

Theme One combines two patently, obviously false premises:

I can well imagine hearing, the day after Election Day, a lot of “You won’t believe it but I was literally in line at the polling station when I decided.”

and,

John McCain won the debate, and he did it by making the case more effectively than he has in the past that Barack Obama will raise taxes, when “now, of all times in America, we need to cut people’s taxes.”

There is a pointer to the Peggy Noonan article at the end of this article.

Some of the latest attacks seem ridiculous.  Sarah Palin was tryin' to ping Obama because he didn't select Hillary as his running mate.

No, let's not talk about the Economy, or what's been wrong the past 8 years.  Instead, try to say that he really had no choice but to pick Hillary as his running mate.

Well, when you get bored with this, go to electoral-vote.com or fivethirtyeight.com and see if this stuff actually works for them.

And, oh yeah, go and do your early vote.

Here's an interesting new video from Ron Howard, Andy Griffith, and Henry Winkler:

It's an endorsement for Obama, but it's interesting seeing them reprise their roles as Opie, Sheriff Taylor, Richie Cunningham, and the Fonz.

I received this link from following wonkette on twitter:

http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/10/23/jpinkerton_1023/

You'll start to read it and say that this is insane right wingnut lunacy, and perhaps you're right.  The punch line occurs in the numerous comments to the article, listed beneath.  Here's one:

You conservatives are so pathetic. Now you equate Obama to Satan. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Your ideology is dead. Your economic policies have made a shamble of the economy, with more blood-letting coming today. Your military strategy has accomplished nothing, other than the deaths of 4,000+ of our soldiers.

You’re going to lose big time in this election and you have only yourselves to blame.

Pathetic dregs of society.

Or how about this one:
Quote

Wow–I just KNEW atanist would be next—let’s see: we’ve gone from socialist to communist to satanist in about 10 days. Hmm…what’s left to call Obama? Murderer, the antichrist, pedophile, al queada member, rapist, robotic plant of the north korean secret police.

they’ll be coming next. sadly, i’m not entirely kidding about this. karl rove’s oozing, putrid mind knows no limits.

mccain will be ashamed of this race until the day he dies. he has disgraced his name, ruined his reputation, and put his nation at risk by nominating that woman from alaska.

in a way it’s sad what mccain has done to himself.

or how about this one:
Quote

The more of this the better!

Truly, we would never have been able to win swing voters without heroic efforts like this one!

Your staggeringly horrific logic make an argument for democratic governance, ideals and principles more eloquently than even Obama could!

Every time one of you morons post something like this, Obama gains a half-point!

Please keep up the great work for 14 more days, ok? Thanks again, jerk!

You just have to know where to look.

I heard that the Obama campaign talked to Matt Damon recently.  They encouraged him to say positive things, because there are definitely some negative things going on in this election and they really don't want to appear to be encouraging the negative stuff.

At this point in the election, that's probably a good thing.  I consider that Obama has gotten it unless his campaign screws up and the end and snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Generally speaking, I think that it's probably a good thing to keep things in perspective and try to say positive things.  There are too many people that seem to believe nut case things like "The world's going to end if Obama gets elected" or some such.  I don't think that there is anything that you can say to those people to convince them of the error of their ways.  The only thing that you can do is to focus on the people who haven't lost it and are probably still in the majority.  The people in the middle of the political spectrum are the swing voters and they are the ones who will determine the course of this country over the next term.

Oh, another thing.  There are two websites with similar content.  There is palinaspresident.com and palinispresident.com.  The "palis as" website is the one that is being updated and the "palin is" website seems to have the older content.

The "palin as" website added Saks and Neiman Marcus shopping bags today.  Pretty funny.

My advice:  try not to get too worked up on this election.  Vote your conscience.  Vote early if you can.  Wait it out until election day.

The next President will have his hands full, with the economy the way that it is.  Wish him well.  Wish him good luck.  He'll need it.  We'll need it.
