Anyone have a clue about when we might get news about a tour to accompany the new albums?

The concert at Hiro Ballroom is already sold out (June 25, 2008, in NY) and they already have the second performance on sale.
This is the anniversary "special" commemoration concert for the 15th anniversary of the release of Exile in Guyville.
I was expecting the first concert to accompany the fall release of the new album (#6), but this is a special for the rerelease.
I believe that there might be concerts in San Francisco and Chicago as well, but dates have not been announced (as far as I know).

There are now 4 shows. 2 in New York, both sold out. One in San Francisco--tickets go on sale tomorrow. One in Chicago--tickets go on sale today.
Liz seems to be covering three of the four directions: East (New York), North (Chicago), and West (San Francisco).
Nothing in the South.
I'm guessing that tickets in SF and Windy City will sell out in short order.

The shows are next week. I thought the one at the Fillmore in San Francisco was sold out, but that's the only one that doesn't quite show as sold out on her myspace page or the severely reduced lizphair.com.
Since she probably needs to finish out the album for this fall, I would guess that she won't tour until the new material is all recorded and locked down.

Well, she should be midway through the August set. I guess that she'll be in Boston over the next two days.
I hope that she eventually performs in the southern US, since she only has scheduled shows in the East, North, and West.

What did I ask her again? Something about her book, I hope.

Hey, why doesn't someone post the question here? I'd like to see it.
I'm glad to see JeremyEngle is still around. I've only infrequently been over to LPF in months. I don't know if I'll ever go back.
My biggest fear these days is that Liz's new album will sound a lot like "Say You". I'm hoping that it won't but you never know.
I'm guessing that there will be another set of Exile performances before the end of the year, but the release of album six might initiate a tour of the new material.
I'd go to either performance here in Austin. I don't care. Would like to see Liz in concert.

These were my crafty questions:
1) Who would you like to haunt? Eventually, of course. 2) What are your three favorite novels?
I haven't seen the article, but I'm guessing that she dug that first one. The second one was closer to my REAL question -- meant to triangulate (literally) the nature of her upcoming novel.

I'm guessing that album six is taking longer to come out than what was originally planned.
A new tour is probably dependent on album six.
Anyone have any dates?

On the Liz Phair myspace page, there is a blog entry about the fact that NPR taped her performance last night and is making it available for streaming. You can go directly to the NPR article with the taped interview and the concert here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95285970

lizphair.com still lists the performances of Exile that were held in 2008 on the 15 yr anniversary of the initial release of Exile.
No other performances were held after the 3 sets (June, August, October).
The fabled 6th album has never been released. I believe someone called ATO Records and 2010 was mentioned.
Liz Phair's myspace page hasn't been logged in since March 2009. I don't know whether this says more about Liz Phair's career or just about the general state of affairs with myspace, which has been going downhill for some time.
I don't believe that we'll see either album six and/or a new tour this year. I wish this weren't so, because I believe it is in Liz's best interest to produce good music and interact with her fans.
For the longest time, the story was that Liz could really do amazing things if it wasn't for the damned record company holding her back. Liz now has everything the way that she wants it with ATO Records. They leave her completely alone to produce exactly the kind of album that she wants to make. And what have we seen is a lot of nothing.
I suspect that Liz completed album six and then there must have been an evaluation of how the album was going to be received. Part of this evaluation happened when Liz performed a song or two with the Exile performances. Part of the evaluation happened with the Banana Republic promotion. My guess is that it isn't what Liz had hoped for and so it's back in the retweaking stage.
