New Surprise album Funstyle (7-3-2010)

Five years after releasing Somebody's Miracle on Capitol Records, Liz Phair finally releases Funstyle, her sixth album.  This album is available only from her website (lizphair.com), which has been updated for the first time in about two years.

She's been talking about releasing this new album for the last couple of years and now it's finally out.

I haven't purchased it yet, but I intend to.

This is a big "What the Fuck?" moment.

Didn't yet listen to it all the way through.  My favorites, so far:

• Smoke
• Bollywood
• Miss September
• Bang! Bang!
• Satisfied

I just about died laughing with this line from "U Hate It".  "Listened to it twice.  It was worse the 2nd time through."

There is a lot of "Fuck You" directed at the music industry, which doesn't get me all that interested, but there's some cool music as well.

The mix of music from India and rap in Bollywood is really different--not something I'd heard of before.

I hope all of the negative vibes are purged now.
