Love Song --- Here she dreads the onset of love, like it's some kind of disease, seeming to hate love itself.  It sounds like she could use a little Lithium on this one.  Speaking of anti-depressants, this sounds to me like something Kurt Cobain could have written.  Few artists are capable of conveying such feeling with a few opening chords.  SHE'S ONE OF THEM.  Lots of gravity here.  Gotta love the dissonant tone.

sounds to me like liz wrote this near the end of her whole ramen fueled songwriting fever. and she realizes that she's writing too much about love and she's like "ahhhhhh fuck it, i can't write about love anymore" but she does and comes up with this. "this is another story about loooooooooooove. what a surprise".

just kidding, it's truly a lovely centerpiece in girly sound. simple, long, kind of anthemic.

I agree, she probably was writing and thought, "I'm stupid for writing a love song; it's something that is so cliche, it's sick.  But I just can't help it."  At the end, when she confesses her love, (I just want to tell you that I loved you, the first time I saw you...), it's a feeling of almost surrender.  She just HAS to write the corny lyrics and the silly, more upbeat chords.  Strangely, she can do it without getting into that corny arena, and it definitely works.

I think it's got something to do with pregnancy, and abortion.  Not that it says anything particular on the subject of her stance on abortion.  But it seems that the character in the song considers it.
