I picked up some albums recently.  (Well, I'm always seeming to be picking up new albums these days).

I got Donna Lewis - In The Pink.

The first cut, "Ireland", reminds me of Pink Floyd, circa The Division Bell, which is their last album.

It's a very relaxing album.  Not really super strong, but very listenable and very likely to remove the stress out of your life, which is something that I really appreciate these days.

I'm listening to a little of everything, as always.  My tastes are far too eclectic to get hung up on one thing for long (very often, at least).  This summer, though, I'm really into music from 10 years ago.  Summer of 1998 was the big fantastic wonderful horrible sprawling teenage summer I'll look back on all my life, and ten years later I'm terribly nostalgic for the music that was playing on the radio then . . . funny how now even the stuff I HATED HATED HATED back then takes me right back to the good times.

I've got into some really diverse recent albums:

Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You
Gemma Hayes - The Hollow of Morning
Susan Tedeschi - Back to the River

The Sarcastic Sarah Palin myspace page had one of the tracks from the new Lily Allen album:  "Fuck You".  Catchy little number.

I got introduced into Gemma Hayes by listening to Pandora off of my iPod Touch, by listening to artists similar to Noush Skaugen.

I had heard of Susan Tedeschi by poking around over at Waterloo Records.  She very much sounds like Janis Joplin.  A hard blues sound.  I like the album so far.

I've been listening to The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter, Honky Tonk Women, Jumpin' Jack Flash.

On the radio, I keep hearing Stealer's Wheel: "Stuck in the Middle With You".  I've been trying to listen to Gerry Rafferty in anticipation of seeing London next week, but this has come up several  times on the radio.

I've been listening to the new album by Raquel Aurilia.  Actually, relatively new.

Woodstock soundtrack.  Back in the day, I had this on vinyl, but it developed skips and other problems and I stopped being able to enjoy it.

They just rereleased it on CD and it still plays quite well.

It originally was a 3 vinyl disk and became 2 CDs in the translation to digital.  Target has a 3 CD version with some songs by CCR, who were conspicuously absent from either the original album or the movie due to legal wranglings by their record company execs.  I am glad to see their music from Woodstock finally available.

Hopefully, they'll rerelease Woodstock II, which included more songs not available with the original 3 disk album.

The new Dolores O'Riordan album No Baggage.  Dolores has announced that she will forego touring for the new album because the Cranberries are reuniting and she'll tour with the Cranberries.

By the way, I plan to be listening to The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again when released this week.  This will be the new John Fogerty album.

New albums today:

John Fogerty - The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again.

Definitely has a country blue grass feel to it.  The musicians really seem like they are totally enjoying themselves on this.  This is a total joy to listen to.

Imogen Heap - Ellipse

A recommendation from fellow LPF and GSF forum member Rammi, who I've stayed connected to on twitter and plurk.  Imogen has nice vocals and an electric synthesizer sound.  Nice stuff.

I've listened several times to the No Baggage album and this one is one to get.  I like it  more each  time I hear it.

I picked up Willie & The Wheel, which is a collaboration between Willie Nelson and Asleep At The Wheel.  Willie singing country swing.

I also picked up the new 2010 album by the Texas Sapphires.  I like it also.

If not for the snow today, I would have picked up Michelle Branch's new album.  Maybe tomorrow.

I picked up Electric Ladyland, a reissue of the Jimi Hendrix Experience album from the 60s.  The album has been re-engineered.  It does sound good and Jimi Hendrix was a simply amazing guitar player.
