I've been taking pictures with my camera my whole life.  I started out with a box camera that took roll film in the early 1960s.  I switched over to an instamatic in the late 1960s and then borrowed my brother's advanced instamatic in the 1970s.

By the time I got to college I had purchased my 35mm camera, a Canon TLb.  I still have that camera and have taken a ton of picture with it.  I've been travelling and taking picture with it for years.

In the late 1990s, I got my first digital camera.  It was a Fuji Finepix camera.  Resolution wasn't all that good, but it took smart media, which was those almost paper thin flash memories.  By the early 2000s, we picked up a Canon Powershot A70.  My first pictures with that camera were bluebonnets up here in the Austin area.  We've taken the Canon on a number of family vacations.

Last year my daughter decided that she was going to get married at the Texas Renaissance Festival, up near Plantersvillle, TX.  We decided that we needed another digital camera and purchased a Nikon Coolpix P2.  It is 5 megapixel digital camera.  We've been really happy with it, but it doesn't have a viewfinder like our Canon Powershot.

Anyways, there might be a bunch of amateur photo bugs out there, so if you're also into digital photography, jump on in!

I would like to get a digital SLR sometime in the near future.  If you have some recommendations, please feel free.

If you're just starting out, tell me (us) what you've tried.

Don't be embarrassed if you either have more than what I do or less--share your experiences.

I created a special hidden page on my website with some of my pictures.  PM me if you want the link.

Nothing naughty--just sunsets.  The Sailboat and the sunset picture:  1024x768.  I also got some pictures taken on the cruise.

I've also got some of my spring 2007 Bluebonnet pictures on my myspace page.  I think some of them are fairly good.
