I'm creating a new thread for new members to respond to. If you've just joined the forum and would like to say something to your fellow forum members, this is the place to do it.
Getting started in a forum can be pretty intimidating for new people and I'd like to make it as easy as possible to get started.
Start by saying something about yourself and maybe why you're here. You don't have to provide your real name if you don't want to. If you do, just leave a first name.
You don't have to start with a long message, just be yourself and write something down.
Welcome people, we're glad you're here.

Well, let's see...I'm here because , as a just now starting singer/songwriter/guitar player some myspace people recommended that I come here and listen to the early works of Liz Phair. Yes early stuff is poorly recorded, but the potential was there...folks are saying the same about me. If you want to see if you agree, and I hope this won't be considered spam, you can take a listen to some of my stuff at www.myspace.com/videophonic. I welcome all comments, suggestions, opinions. I was amazed to find this site with all of these early recordings.

I guess I should introduce myself (again). I'm Rammi, and I'm a bit forum-phobic (there really ought to be a scientific word for that). I'm a web geek, and I dabble in HTML and PHP.

Hello, I've been a fan for awhile. This seems like a good time to get involved.

Hello, my name is Lethe. (That's a shortened form of my real first name.) I only knew a couple of Liz Phair songs ("Never Said" and "Why Can't I") until recently, but I've since become a fan and tracked down more of her work. I was very excited to discover the Girly Sound recordings all in one place, and I'd like to thank those who are responsible for making them available. I'm 25 years old and currently on medical leave from my studies in criminal psychology. I have very diverse musical tastes - there's almost nothing I don't like. I don't play an instrument or sing (well, I do sing, but not all that well ), but I do write songs (lyrics and basic melodies). My real talent is as a writer of poetry and prose. When I'm not writing or trying to be musical, you can find me reading (my literary tastes are as broad as my musical tastes), cuddling a dog or cat, playing on my computer, or watching movies. So that's me . . . hello everybody.

hey, I'm rex. i was on the .com forum as "rexy" and later on as "HWC," which I covered on that fan-made tribute album from a few years back. btw I dropped out of .com a little after it became LPF because of all the rampant negativity and ass-talking. anyway..... loving Funstyle!

Hey there, I'm Ed. I'm 20 years old and I'm from Portugal. I've been a lurker both here and on the LPF for some time, but now that the LPF has closed I thought I'd register here, this seems to be a really nice forum. I'm a pretty recent fan of Liz Phair, I've known her probably since 2008. I prefer her earlier work but I think that her self-titled album is pretty funny, as well as Funstyle. Now THAT'S an original album. Well, that's it.

Heyyy. I'm Chelsea, but a lot of times I go by Bodie online, so you can pretty much call me either. I've only been a fan of Liz for a little over a year now, but I absolutely love her music. I first discovered her when I was in a dance class last year and the teacher had "Why Can't I?" in the playlist of songs we danced to. I really liked it so I decided to look into her other stuff. I think I like her old material a little bit more, though I do enjoy her new stuff too. Honestly, I love anything by Liz no matter what the time period. I kind of had a mini heart attack when she released Funstyle. xD It's definitely original, just so bizarre...and I love it. My favorite song by her, contrary to popular belief (you probably thought it was "Polyester Bride," right?) is "Glory" from Exile in Guyville because I just find it absolutely beautiful (even though the lyrics are not exactly what you would think of in a beautiful song xD). I also love "Johnny Feelgood." Good times. Yes. As for my life outside of Liz Phair (which, yes, I actually do have) I'm kind of a theater geek and musicals are awesome. I also enjoy writing and want someday to be a published author, which is probably never going to happen, but whatever. For now I'm just glad to be here!
